The HempVap™ is a first of its kind hemp-based CBD-oil vaporizer pen. Personal vaporizers, also known as electronic cigarettes, are usually designed to deliver concentrated cannabis or nicotine; the HempVap vaporizes a flavored high-CBD hemp oil.

The most famous cannabinoid is THC, but THC has gotten a bad rap over the years due to Drug War propaganda, even though it is proven effective for various medical conditions.

As the active ingredient in cannabis, THC is a Schedule I controlled substance that has no accepted medical value and cannot be studied, produced or distributed under federal law. It is, however ironically, recognized as safe to synthesize and rebrand (Marinol). THC holds promise as a treatment for a variety of conditions, including HIV, Crohn’s Disease, various cancers and many others conditions.

Then there is cannabidiol (CBD), the quasi-legal cannabinoid found in large quantities in hemp as well as some dried marijuana flowers (buds) and is known to have a wide range of medical benefits.

CBD derived from hemp has less than 0.1 percent THC, so it is non-psychoactive and just as legal as a hemp clothing or lotion. States with medical marijuana laws already have marijuana strains and products high in CBD (with effective levels of THC) available for sale in dispensaries, and some states are passing laws to exclusively legalize CBD, which happens to already be legal in all 50 states when derived from industrial hemp.

The HempVap contains one gram of CBD-rich hemp oil that comes in three flavors: strawberry, honeydew and papaya. The kit comes pre-charged and fully loaded so it is ready to use out of the box.

The Cannabis Now team especially enjoyed the honeydew flavor, the
melon flavoring felt more true to taste, as opposed to an artificial fruit flavoring.

The effects are an instant, a wave of mellow, clear-headed focus. Perhaps that is also aided by the hooka/yoga like focus on breathing inherent in the act of vaporizing or smoking, or maybe it is the effect of the CBD, but the vaporizer has been an instant hit with everyone who has tried it. There is no second hand smoke and only the faintest smell because the hemp oil is vaporized, not smoked.

The flavors are clear and smoky, like shisha but even smoother and cleaner, and the battery seemingly lasts forever. It’s fun and relaxing, and satisfying to the cigarette smoker seeking an alternative.

The Brain Dart vaporizer retails for $30 as do the 1-gram pre-loaded cartridges, refillable cartridges are also available.

While HempVap is not marketed as a cigarette replacement, CBD has shown promise in reducing nicotine cravings, which makes it a great natural alternative to nicotine-based electronic cigarettes, not to mention the mellowing effects of the CBD are great for reducing anxiety, depression, schizophrenia and other mental disorders, CBD also is a great natural balance to THC for cannabis users.

Although CBD meds are new and little understood at this time, they are generally safe and legal when produced responsibly. The HempVap is a unique and innovative new product; one I feel we will be seeing a lot more of.
