Bob Marley has long been an iconic symbol commonly associated with peace, love and ganja. Through his powerful and influential music, his unifying message has reached just about every corner of the globe and has continued to proliferate through the music of his well-known children. His offspring are looking to take their father’s legacy even further by launching the world’s first global cannabis brand, Marley Natural.
The family has teamed up with Washington-based company Privateer Holdings to bring their product to the frontlines of this new age of cannabis legislation. Privateer’s chief executive Brendan Kennedy is excited to be working with a legend.
“It was just a natural fit between Bob Marley and this product. You know if you were to look for the most famous human being who ever walked the face of the earth related to cannabis, it would be Bob Marley,” he said.
According to reports, the company plans to have a number of products including heirloom strains (rumored to have been some of Bob’s favorites) from Jamaica, cannabis and hemp-infused topicals and handcrafted accessories. Products may be available in the U.S. and other countries as soon as late next year. Bob Marley’s daughter, Cedella Marley, is looking forward to introducing the brand to the world.
“My dad would be so happy to see people understanding the healing power of the herb,” she said.
