RECIPE: Banana Kush-Infused Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies
This chocolate chip cookie recipe adds the unmistakeable natural sweetness of bananas and the potent effects and flavors of Banana Kush. Fire up the oven and get ready to go bananas.
Chocolate pairs so beautifully with so many different food items that it is a constant delicious joy, so the chocolate chip element of these cookies requires no real introduction. Bananas? They’re just one fruit (of many) that is a match made in heaven for chocolate. This simple recipe takes little time to make, but it will send your mouth on a thrill ride. Enjoy the notes of Banana Kush as it truly adds an enjoyable complexity to these cookies.
Mise en place
• 1 cup cannabutter with 3.5 grams of Banana Kush infused in it
• 1 cup turbinado sugar (raw sugar)
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 2 teaspoons banana extract
• 3 cups all purpose flour
• 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
• 1 whole large banana
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2: In a bowl, cream the butter, turbinado sugar and brown sugar in a bowl. Slowly beat in the eggs one at a time and add both the extracts into the mixture.
Step 3: Add the banana and mix until incorporated.
Step 4: Mix the salt, baking soda and flour in a small bowl. Slowly add in this mixture until fully combined and a dough forms.
Step 5: Add the chocolate chips and gently stir until everything is incorporated into the cookie dough.
Step 6: Divide the dough into 13 large cookies and bake for 8 to 10 minutes, depending on the oven you are using. Keep an eye on them, as many ovens vary in temperatures. Enjoy!
Strain Substitutions
I would recommend any strains whose terpenes reflect the sweet banana and citrus flavor profiles of Banana Kush. Pick the most pleasing strain that you can find for this dish; Banana OG, Chiquita Banana and Glass Slipper would be ideal strains to choose from. Be creative, follow your nose/taste buds and have fun with it!
Dosage
If the strain you choose has a THC content tests around ten percent, then 10 percent of 1,000 mg would be 100 mg per gram. Substitute the number of your THC percentage and do the math to figure out your desired dosage per tablespoon for your cannabis butter. Adjust the dosage accordingly to your personal preferences.
