Celebrate the End Of Prohibition in Oregon

Oregon voters passed Measure 91 last November, legalizing the production, possession, retail sales and consumption of recreational marijuana for adults 21 and over. However, eager consumers will have to wait until at least October before they can purchase recreational cannabis. In the meantime, there are a number of ways to celebrate legalization in Oregon thanks to companies throughout the state that are providing safe access to seeds and sensimilla.

Remember to consume safely, and don’t be afraid to share with others 21 and over.

Grow Your Own
Stoney Girl Gardens is hosting a commemorative Free Marijuana Seed Giveaway at their dispensary in Clackamas. A number of their award-winning genetics will be available to adults 21 and over and they will be giving tours of a medical marijuana dispensary.

Glass Blowing Blow Out
The Third Eye Shoppe, a Portland counter culture gem and headshop founded by the late, great Jack Herer is celebrating legalization on the same day as their shop’s 28th anniversary. This well-known Hawthorne icon will be hosting a glass blowing demonstration in their parking lot, everything in the store will be 25 percent off and you can take part in a raffle to win a piece of local Oregon glass. For cannabis consumers, there will be free marijuana, medibles and concentrates for the crowd with an I.D. The party starts at noon.

Weed The People
A cannabis bash presented by The C02 Company, Oregon-grown concentrate production company Oregon’s Cannabis Concierge and The Portland Mercury features a “Growers Gifting Room,” where there is a gift for each attendee and flower sampling from Oregon’s top growers. There will also be a “Vaporization Station” hosted by Green Bodhi and Calyxes Dispensary to celebrate the end of cannabis prohibition in Oregon.

Fore-Twenty Golf Tournament
On July 20, the “largest cannabis golf tournament in the Northwest” will be taking place in Oregon. There will be live entertainment, raffles and giveaways, hole-by-hole winner prizes as well as food and drink. This event is sponsored by companies such as Leafly, Proper Oil, Evergreen Medicinals, Oregon’s Finest, Looking Glass Extracts and Marley Coffee. Open consumption is not only encouraged, the chance to consume is provided by various sponsors. Those involved only want to highlight the great state of Oregon, its local cannabis industry and its leading brands.
