40 Under 40: Tom Angell

Tom Angell is arguably one of the most informed and respected resources for all things cannabis policy.

Tom Angell had been covering cannabis policy and politics for more than two decades. He’s the
founder of the nonprofit Marijuana Majority, an educational and advocacy organization, as well as publisher and editor of Marijuana Moment.

He has reported for a variety of publications and once handled media relations for Law Enforcement Against Prohibition and Students for Sensible Drug Policy. Angell’s arguably one of the most informed and respected resources for all things cannabis policy.

After an eye-opening, firsthand experience with cannabis criminalization while attending college, he felt “called” to turn his attention to cannabis advocacy. Despite the struggles cannabis still faces, Angell says that any conversation happening around the subject is overwhelmingly positive.

He’s clearly seen the demeanor of the political discourse towards the plant change over the recent years, as well as the general public’s increasingly positive reactions.

But Angell insists that there’s always work to be done.
