CWCBE Set for NYC

With the medical marijuana program still very much in its infancy in New York state, cannabis commerce hopes to establish solid roots at the Cannabis World Congress and Business Exposition.

The Cannabis World Congress and Business Exposition (CWCBE) will take place from June 15-17 at the nation’s busiest convention center the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan  is set to feature cannabusinesses in several areas of focus including security services, legal resources and marketing agencies.

Hosted by the for-profit group known as the International Cannabis Association, the convention will include speakers such as former NFL player Leonard Marshall moderating a panel involving medical marijuana as a treatment for sports-related injuries as well as a keynote address from NORML founder Keith Stroup.

In addition to the open conventional hall filled with marijuana-related businesses, the CWCBE boasts an array of seminars expected to offer insight on creating, financing and running a cannabis-based business. As a part of the seminars Dale Sky Jones, executive chancellor of Oaksterdam University, will offer a presentation on from mitigating risk when establishing a business model. Another presentation offered at the event will include insights on marijuana’s transition from a mom and pop industry to big business.
