Dime Bags has made their place in cannabis culture by providing smokers with a stylish and sustainable way to transport glass safely from place to place. The convertible backpack comes with removable padding that fits almost any bong and the company’s continual evolution has resulted in a duffle selection ideal for dab rigs.
“It’s about sustainability through education,” CEO and founder Tim Morrissey says of Dime Bag’s business model. “Whether that means that we’re educating about recycled materials and hemp or whether that’s education about the amendments and just knowing your rights as consumers.”
Lined with recycled polyester and extra padding to ensure the safe transport of glass, these packs also convey a commitment toward altering cannabis stereotypes though style.
“There’s unfortunately some really bad stigmas toward the cannabis community,” Morrissey says. “The reality is we’re doctors, we’re lawyers, we’re pillars of our communities and sadly because of the choice of a hat that we choose to wear, a backpack, something that’s close to us that’s about our lifestyle, has some very discriminatory components that come with it.”
That’s why each Dime Bag comes with a copy of the Fourth Amendment outlining “the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures.”
Just because the pack says “Dime Bag” does not give the police the right to search its contents.
“It’s about being able to say, ‘Hey, I know what my limitations are, I have not done anything wrong,’” Morrissey says.
In working with materials such as recycled polyester and hemp, Dime Bags also sets out to stomp out stoner stereotypes further in pushing for an active green revolution. These packs are durable and designed to last for years.
“If we can make the green movement a positive thing and educate people in the process to know what their limitations are or are not I feel that the real true characters and colors of the people can actually come out,” Morrissey says.
