Bath Treatment Trio

Published on

Hemp and cannabis, duel cultivars from the same plant, meld together to melt away mental stress and muscle fatigue in a soothing new line of bath treatments from Cannabis Basics. Each of the three tub soaks – mineral baths featuring eucalyptus, peppermint and rosemary with pink Himalayan crystals and a dead sea salt with cinnamon myrrh and cassia – contain premium cannabis as well as hempseed oil.

As Cannabis Creations owner Ah Warner explains, hempseed oil mimics the perfect balance of essential fatty acids that humans gain through skincare and food. Hempseed, like cannabis, also acts as an anti-inflammatory.

But, as Warner knows well, whether one is referring to hemp or its drug cultivar “it’s all cannabis.”

“[Cannabis] is this really rare place that both types of cultivars come together,” she says.

When used topically, cannabis acts as an analgesic or pain reliever.  A known antispasmodic, cannabis contains the healing properties found other homeopathic remedies such as tea tree oil and arnica, blending anti-bacterial, anti-fungal elements alongside anti-inflammatory, analgesic properties. Put simply, cannabis is excellent for both skin care and pain management.

The bath soaks combine all the beneficial elements of hemp and cannabis alongside the aromatherapy present in essential oils. Here one finds yet another intimate connection between cannabis and other forms of aromatherapy as the cannabis terpenes, which give Lemon Thai strain its uplifting buzz and Lavender Kush its soothing effects, play an intimate role in a cannabis smoker’s high.

“Essential oils are nothing but terpenes,” Warner says.

The mineral soaks, which require a whole container for a minimum 30-minute bath or half a container for a hot foot soak, fully embrace duality and are a great way to heal both the mind and body.
